I am always aiming to please the typical Canadian family at HLH. Our venue provides a warm, cozy, relaxing and fun locale for one, two or even possible three families. We strive to provide excellent value for the larger sized family. Sometimes we are challenged on how to respond to the inquiry from the "Party Group" looking for some action, tunes, and booze, while they attempt to fish and swim, may even do some boating. And though we have ourselves, at times, wanted something a bit more randy than the "peaceful, gentle breezes" of a family setting, we look for it in the city and the local neighbourhood bar and lounge. It is not typical for these parts to endorse and promote large groups for partying. Cottage owners are in a difficult spot. They would like to rent out their properties and have as little vacancies as possible, BUT, at what point do you draw the line. And we are not talking about an age group, or a specific culture of people. It's more of a mindset and purpose. When we created the idea of HLH and providing a haven to families for local vacationing, the intent was not to reduce the fun, but create awareness more so for the area. There are all kinds of people young and old that enjoy boozing and boating, boozing and water sports and boozing and campfires. It often becomes a difficult combination, and the law being what it is in the province, it's not worth it in the day for the sake of few bucks of profit. We have been there. Don't be offended if you are looking for some Wasage action. You'll find it I'm sure. Just not at HLH. So when we ask questions about occupancy, family groupings, and such, believe that's it's not about discriminating against fun times, but to ensure we are the right fit for your vacation. We want your stay with us to be comforting, memorable, and above all, relaxing. | AuthorDowntownie turned nature lover, been up in these parts for years....think Ontario is one of the most beautiful provinces and this part of the province is simply gorgeous!
