It never ceases to amaze me how last minute a lot of guests are with their large group rental arrangements.  If you are a large family/group, finding a "last minute deal" is not a realistic way to save money.  More often than not you end up very dissappointed because all the really great spots are already taken.  When you think about it, if you are planning an all-inclusive package to the south with your partner, most people plan in advance.  They want to make sure they get what they want, and secure the best VALUE.  Moreover, travelling with kids adds so many other criteria and considerations to your laundry list.  
    
    So why wait until the last minute?

There are not a lot of spots out there that can accomodate two or three families under one roof (resorts maybe have more options), and vacancies at those spots dissappears during the months of July and August.  When you think about it practically, kids are off school July and August.  Chances are if you are planning vacation for you and your family with kids in it, you are going to plan according to their schedule, and hope and pray you can work your own into the deal!  

    So why, for Goodness Sake wouldyou wait until mid June to book the first week of July?????  People get so angry with me when they find out that that week is already taken, like we did it on purpose or something.  

PLAN AHEAD and you won't be dissappointed.  I post it all the time in my advertising and marketing.  Be PROACTIVE and not REACTIVE.  It makes me shake my head all the time...people will book their accountant, dentist, physical, and family reunion in advance...but when it comes to their vacation with the family
